Archive for January, 2007

since i was in indonesia i know that i love to go to shopping… but today, when we try to clean up our laundry room, i just realize that i bought too much clothes on last winter sale. gosh! working in ireland and get paid with euro (and also another donation from hubby loves wife foundation) makes me being spoil and not wise in using my money.

Img_1975today we just bought 2 hanging rails for the clothes because our clothes were messed up every where. when chris go to laundry room, he said, "hon, there’s a bunch of shopping bag with the clothes inside!" geee, even i never open my winter shopping goodies. so i just answer " hmm, i just wanna make sure that i always have a nice clothes until next summer sale, so i didn’t wear that clothes yet!  i won’t do shopping anymore until next summer sale!" (am i a smart girl or what? only do shopping when it’s sale :P) and chris only answer " you wish….."

so i just unpacked the new clothes, new stockings, new socks, some new shoes, new under-wears, new bags…. oh yeah, i can hear the scream of joy from them!!! finally, they can breath and can hang on the rail nicely just like on the store.but it really bring a shock on my face… is that much???? how much euro did i spend for all this clothes??? ah yeah, some of them already have "junk" label on it and i will send it to undo because suddenly i just don’t like it anymore, or my Christmas belly just didn’t fit anymore with that clothes (well, promise myself that i will do some work out, but well… you know what’s at the end).

Img_1969
oh gosh!!! i am so bad!!!! and all that clothes are not included with the clothes and all those boots that i already used.where’s my mind when i bought that… of course it never give the pain on my wallet since chris is the one who paid that and no hurt on my hand too because chris is the one who carried the shopping bags. well, that’s what i call the joy of shopping: buy a lot of nice things with the hubby’s money, and the hubby’s the one who carried the shopping bags.

gosh, i even didn’t  buy anything from zara, actually i already wanna go to zara to buy that nice pants, but well… better not!
ah yeah, when i look at my back to my book shelfs, i found out that i spend a lot on the books that i hardly read…. (ah well, that jamie oliver book is on big discounts!)
and books are good investment too, ah well… but clothes are good investment too! it will be very useful to look nice when i have an interview to get a better job!
gee… i can list a lot of excuses for all my bad habit!
hmm, and i bought a bunch of make up kits and perfume last december too….

kinda regret the way i spend the money, really ring a bell with that shopie kinsella’s shopaholic books. but well, regret won’t solve everything… so from now on i promise my self that i won’t go shopping until next summer… (ah, but i didn’t buy that timberland shoes yet… gosh! it’s on  big sale now!!!!)hmm, should i make that promise after i buy that shoes? and have something new every week is a very nice feeling!esp. i can’t stand to not buy those books with 3 for 2 sign!

people said that buy things that you need not the things that you want.. but it won’t work with me, because i need a nice shoes that match with my jacket. or a bag that will match with my laptop, or a shawl that match with my hat!!!!
hehehehe, i think chris is so happy that i’m not crazy about all that expensive brand items 😛

gonna be a really hard work, but well i think i really really have enough clothes, shoes, bags, make ups for all occasion… so it won’t be impossible then!

wish me luck!

errrrggghhhh!!!! where’s sunshine????!!!
i don’t like winter, i don’t like cold, i don’t like it because when i wake up in the morning and there’s no sunshine, i don’t like when it’s rain and make my shoes wet, i don’t like when the wind blown so hard and make me think that i can fly to indo by the wind……
i don’t care people said snow is lovely, eh, no snow in ireland anyway… so i don’t care with the snow.

i miss indo, i miss the sunshine in the morning….. i miss a hot sunny day (but i’m inside the house, hehehee…)

hehehe,i’m bored at the office now… that’s why i post this junk 😛

Happy birthday my dear,
another chapter added in your life
may you are happier and  be wise

Happy birthday my dear,
Thank you for letting  me by your side
Shower me with love and treat me right

Happy birthday my dear,
Wish I can be with you earlier than what we have
Because forever seems not enough

Happy birthday my dear,
I can’t believe that you have a lot of faith in me,
Even  when you know that I only can cook indomie

Happy birthday my dear,
You take me with you from my country on the south
And make me speak with another language with my mouth

Happy birthday my dear,
Sorry for I can’t cook your kaasflentjes and olliebollen so often
Because for me, bakso, sop buntut and mie goreng  can’t be beaten

Happy birthday my dear,
You know that I love you more than I can imagine,
Even when I know that Keanu can contribute a better gen,

Happy birtdhay my dear,
You know that I never make a birthday cake,
But for you, no matter is the risk, I will take

Happy birthday my dear,
How many people you’ll invite for the dinner next saturday?
12? What? Do you think we have enough chicken to fry?

Happy birthday my dear,
You what? One of your firiend’s vegetarian?
So do you think she can eat some durian?

Happy birthday my dear,
So ayam bakar, sapi lada hitam, cap cay and oseng sawi will be fine
But do you think as dessert tiramisu will be ok with the wine?

Happy birthday my dear,
Why I make this silly thing on the blog
Just because I can’t find a nice gift on the stock.

blessed years…

happy new year,everybody!!!
2006 is amazing for me,so many reason to be thankful in 2006. first, that finally i can move to ireland to be with my hubby, the guy who really love me and put his trust in me.he really believe that i can cook, and i’m really happy to prove that he’s right. well, actually i’m cooking not because i want to but in the matter of survival. grown up with bakso, pempek, kolak, and all yummy indonesian foods, living in the country where rice and sambal are something special, no maid who can do all things, forces me to cook and fulfill my hunger for indonesian food. thanks to internet  i can find nice recipes and of course, the support from my hubby who really loves to be a guinea pig for my foods 😛

i started with cooking chicken ala kung pao and end 2006 with cooking Ayam Kodok and making a nice Carrot Cake. oh, i’m so proud of myself that i can cook and a lot of people love my cooks.
i still remember how disastrous my first dinner party was, because the rice is not good (the rice is different from indo’s rice, and i put to much bird eye’s chilli on my food! come on, i didn’t know if bird eye’s chillies are cabe rawit!).
but now, i’m more confident with my dinner party, and i love to introduce indonesian food to my guests, can’t wait to have our first dinner party on next saturday, celebrating my love’s birthday, i wanna make some Opera Cake, i hope i really can make it.
even though my career is not that glamorous in 2006, i’m so thankful to God for the opportunity that i get to work at Apple. from this experience i learn a lot of things, from the western working culture, finding out that  my communication skills in english are not that brilliant, and how long "gemme two minutes" actually is in ireland. even my position is not permanent but from the money that i get, i know that i’m worth it.

moving to another place means making a new friends, and i’m so glad that i can meet with a lot of wonderful and special friends here.not only indonesian friends, but also from around the world.btw, "hi, how are you?" is a general greeting in cork, so sometime they didn’t mean to hear your answer about how you are 🙂

the hardest part is when i miss my church and the choir…singing in choir is really fancy thing here. but i start to learn to play violin, i still keep in touch with music 🙂

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my father!
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not:
As thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.

Chorus
Great is Thy faithfulness,
Great is Thy faithfulness,
Morning by morning new mercies I see:
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me!

Summer
and winter, and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above,
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

Pardon
for sin and a peace that endureth.
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide,
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

it’s not just a song, but it’s really true.God never said that i will have an easy live, but He give me the strength to face the challenge. so that’s why my life is so beautiful and i can say that i’m so lucky all throughout my life. just count your blessing and you will feel the same… (eh, so lucky is included when you find your favorite product is now in 70% discount now :P)
i can’t say that my life is so smooth and easy, but well, i’m just thankful for everything and to know that God is with you is the greatest gift in this world.
i really like this song, "all i have needed Thy hand hath provided", so no worries about the future and blame for the past….

i’m still the old ovie, who really misses her friends in indo, who loves to chat with them all and find out the latest gossip of the friends, who loves to sing in the choir, who still believes that Keanu is the most handsome guy in this world (and he’s not gay!),who prefers to take becak or other transport that’s available rather than take a walk, who really loves to eat that Bubur in front of GII and cheer the seller and calling him "Franky", who still rewinds the memories that she had with Clara on "dumb and dumber experience’s in Jogja,Magelang, Semarang", who still figures out how to pay "nasi timbel" close to masjid Istiqamah that she forgot to paid because she ran away to catch the angkot (and it’s big rain!!!), who still remembers that irene once said " i will consider you, if i’m still single at 35"  to my male friend when three of us are hang out. but hey! she will get married soon :).

thank you for everybody who touched my life, welcome 2007! i will be a better me….
